Who we are
A lake-country builder, not a production crew
Destiny Home Construction is a licensed Minnesota residential building contractor working exclusively in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Tyler Conway takes on the work personally — which is why clients describe measurements that are exact, framing that is right where you can't see it, and phone calls that get returned.
Shoreline building here is its own discipline. Setbacks and impervious coverage limits shape the footprint, slope decides whether you get a walkout, and Minnesota winters punish any detail that was rushed. We plan around those realities before drawings are final rather than discovering them at permit review.
The result is straightforward: careful carpentry, honest sequencing, and a finished home that still feels considered a decade from now.
Local knowledge

What we build
Three ways we take on work

In their words
What clients have said
Real reviews from Destiny Home Construction clients. We do not publish invented testimonials, ratings or review counts.
Just finished my 3 Season Room. Such a detailed carpenter and took the time to give suggestions that made the room so much more than I ever imagined. The tiled floors are marvelous! Such a great experience!
Really cooperative, love their enthusiasm towards the job. 10/10
Our process
Six steps, no mystery
From first phone call to punch list, you always know what happens next and who is responsible for it.
- 01
First conversation
A phone call or email to understand the property, what you want to change, roughly when you want it done, and the budget range you have in mind. If we are not the right fit, you will hear that early rather than after three weeks of silence.
- 02
Site walk
We visit the property together. On a remodel that means opening the conversation about what is behind the walls; on a new build it means access, slope, tree cover, setbacks, utilities and where a house can genuinely sit.
- 03
Scope & estimate
A written scope describing what is included, what is excluded, and where allowances apply for selections you have not made yet. Clear exclusions prevent most construction arguments before they start.
- 04
Planning & permits
Drawings finalized, permits applied for, inspections mapped, long-lead materials ordered, and trades scheduled in sequence. Windows, cabinetry and specialty materials get ordered early because lead times drive the calendar.
- 05
Build
Work proceeds in order with the site kept clean and secure. You get progress updates and photos, and any discovery behind the walls comes to you the same day with options and cost before we move ahead.
- 06
Finish & walkthrough
Trim, tile and final details — the part that decides how a project feels. We walk the space with you, build the punch list together, and close it out before calling the job done.
